أرتبط أسم الأَميرة أَشرف بهلوي بحوادث مهمة جداً، كانت لها أثرها في الواقع السياسي و الاجتماعي الإيراني من النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين. فمع وصول الدكتور مصدق الى الوزارة في ايار 1951 بدأ الصراع على أَشده بينه وبين الأَميرة أَشرف بهلوي، فقد جاء مصدق الى السلطة وفي جعبته مشاريع كبيرة أهمها، تنفيذ قانون الصناعة النفطية في إيران، وإصلاح قانون الانتخابات، وتقليص صلاحيات الشاه الى حد كبير وجعلها وظائف شرفية، الأمر الذي أزعج البلاط ولاسيما الأَميرة أَشرف بهلوي. وبدأت بالتنسيق مع بعض أعضاء مجلس الشورى الوطني والشخصيات العسكرية للإطاحة بحكومة مصدق. إلا أنها فشلت في تحقيق هدفها، للتأييد الذي حظي به مصدق من الجماهير الإيرانية.
