الصلاة وهي الركن الثاني من اركان الاسلام وهي ما يمحو الله به الخطايا ،يقول النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم :" أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ نَهَرًا بِبَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ فِيهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسًا، مَا تَقُولُ: ذَلِكَ يُبْقِي مِنْ دَرَنِهِ " قَالُوا: لاَ يُبْقِي مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْئًا، قَالَ: «فَذَلِكَ مِثْلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الخَمْسِ، يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهِ الخَطَايَا"، رواه البخاري ( 1/ 112) ،وان الامكنة والازمنة تشرف بفضل العبادة فيها ، فكان للصلاة في المساجد الثلاثة ( المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي والمسجد الاقصى) فضيلة خاصة عن باقي المساجد وهذه الفضيلة تشمل صلاة الفريضة وصلاة النافلة.
