الإسلام دين أراده الله ليكون منهاجاً تنبثق منه خطوات البشرية في شتى مناحي الحياة التعبدية والاقتصادية وغيرها، لذلك انطلق الإسلام بالإنسان كونه خليفة الله في الأرض ومستخلف فيها، وترتب على هذا عبادة الإنسان لربه التي هي من لوازم أخرته، وتعمير الأرض التي هي سر ديمومة حياة الإنسان على الأرض، فكثيرا ما حثت السنة النبوية على أعمار الأرض وأهمية الغرس فيها وقرنت ذلك الأعمار بالأعمال التي ينال بها الإنسان الأجر والثواب الذي من شأنه ان يُعليهِ منزلة في أخرته، واعمار الأرض لا ينطوي على الغرس فيها فقط؛ وإنما يتخذ أشكالا عدة فالحفاظ عليها وعدم الإفساد فيها شكل من أشكال أعمارها وغيرها من الأمور التي من شأنها القيام بالأرض وإحيائها.
